About Serve the City
Serve the City is a global movement of volunteers showing kindness in practical ways to people in need. We are a collective effort of residents, the faith-based community, civic and non-profit organizations, police, fire, city government, and local businesses striving to meet the needs in our community. Our goal is to build trusting relationships, instill hope, and transform lives.
Serve the City mobilizes volunteers to show kindness in practical ways to people in need. We assist residents with yard work, painting, basic home repairs, tutoring students, visiting the elderly, serving food, helping children in need, community events, environmental care and other projects.
We understand that most people would like to do something to make a difference but they don’t really know where to start. We connect those volunteers with meaningful opportunities to get involved in the community.
Serve the City is for everyone. It’s a revolution, a serving revolution. And it’s going to change the world.
We know them by their needs. What if we knew them by name? Cross the line. Serve the City.

In 2005, Serve the City International began in Brussels as a single week of service, initiated by a Christian faith community called The Well (www.thewell.be). Now Serve the City is active or starting in 65 cities around the world (www.servethecity.net).
